Climate Stewards USA

We are passionate about helping people to learn, pray, and take climate action while supporting our global neighbors to adapt to the consequences of climate change. In 2020 we merged with Climate Caretakers, a distinctly Christian prayer and action project to raise awareness of the climate crisis. Climate Stewards USA is a part of A Rocha USA.

We walk step-by-step with organizations that want to faithfully steward God’s creation. To date, we have helped over 50 organizations and thousands of individuals understand their carbon emissions impact and lower it year after year.

Green Christian – Ordinary Christians, extraordinary times

Green Christian was formed in 1981, and formally constituted in 1982 when the vision was to share green insights with Christians and Christian insights with the green movement.

Since then the ecological crisis has deepened so we seek the more urgently to live gently on the earth, encouraging one another in discipleship which accepts our impact on God’s creation as a whole.

We believe in a gospel for all creation. We are currently a community of ordinary Christians from all backgrounds and traditions who seek to:
• let loose hope in this damaged, exploited and unjust world
• pioneer practical discipleship in shared prayer, struggle and action
• equip prophetic witness through our campaigns and resources
• empower agents of change in churches and the green movement

through:
daily prayer, daily simple lifestyle, public witness, and encouragement to one another and the provision of resources, including a magazine, groups, retreats and conferences.

Greenfaith

Because the Earth and all people are sacred and at risk, GreenFaith is building a worldwide, multi-faith climate and environmental movement.

Together our members create communities to transform ourselves, our spiritual institutions, and society to protect the planet and create a compassionate, loving and just world.

Growing out of the first Earth Day in 1970, EARTHDAY.ORG is the world’s largest recruiter to the environmental movement, working with more than 150,000 partners in over 192 countries to drive positive action for our planet.

Eco-Justice Ministries

Eco-Justice Ministries is an independent, ecumenical agency that helps churches answer the call to care for all of God’s creation, and develop ministries that are faithful, relevant and effective in working toward social justice and environmental sustainability. This site went dormant in 2020, but still offers a significant array of resources.

EcoPreacher

Dr. Schade, aka EcoPreacher, is an anti-fracking and climate activist and advocate for environmental justice issues, and is a trained workshop leader for Lutherans Restoring Creation, a grassroots movement helping congregations learn how to “go green.”  As a community organizer, Schade served as the coordinator of a local grassroots effort to halt plans for a proposed tire incinerator in Union County.  She has presented testimony at numerous state and federal hearings on several different environmental issues and helped to organize and been a speaker at press conferences, protests and rallies about the dangers and injustices of the shale gas industry. She has been featured on local radio talk shows and interfaith workshops on care-of-Creation issues.

Samples of her sermons, book and film reviews and other writings can be found on her blog:  www.ecopreacher.blogspot.com.

Episcopal Public Policy Network – Creation Care

As we are called by God to care for creation, we support policies that protect the natural resources that sustain all life on Earth. The Church calls for policies that mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, promote sustainable energy, the safe and just use of natural resources, and support communities impacted by a lack of environmental stewardship.

Evangelical Environmental Network

The Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) is a ministry that educates, inspires, and mobilizes Christians in their effort to care for God’s creation, to be faithful stewards of God’s provision, to get involved in regions of the United States and the world impacted by pollution, and to advocate for actions and policies that honor God and protect the environment.

Founded in 1993, EEN’s work is grounded in the Bible’s teaching on the responsibility of God’s people to “tend the garden” and in a desire to be faithful to Jesus Christ and to follow Him. EEN publishes materials to equip and inspire individuals, families, and churches; and seeks to educate and mobilize Christians to make a difference in their churches and communities, and to speak out on national and international policies that affect our ability to preach the Gospel, protect life, and care for God’s Creation.

Blockquotes

Single line blockquote:

Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

Multi line blockquote with a cite reference:

People think focus means saying yes to the thing you’ve got to focus on. But that’s not what it means at all. It means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully. I’m actually as proud of the things we haven’t done as the things I have done. Innovation is saying no to 1,000 things.
